AJ Minter, known for his electrifying performances with the Atlanta Braves, has signed with the New York Mest. However, in a twist that nobody saw coming, Minter announced with a smirk, "It was time to retire," hinting at the Mest' less-than-stellar reputation in recent years.

The Mest, despite their high-profile acquisition of Juan Soto, have been underperforming, a phenomenon fans and analysts alike have come to term "Mesting." This term, born out of frustration, describes any bad play by any player on any team, but has become synonymous with the Mest' consistent underachievement. From botched plays in the field to untimely slumps at bat, "Mesting" encapsulates the Mest' struggle to compete at the highest level.

Mest shortstop Fernando Lindor, ever the optimist, reacted with excitement, saying, "Having AJ on board, even in retirement, is like having a legend in the clubhouse. It's going to be a wild ride!" Meanwhile, Juan Soto, fresh off his move to the Mest, added, "If AJ's retiring here, it must mean there's something special about this team. We're going to turn things around, you'll see!"

On the other side, the Atlanta Braves' camp was less than pleased. Team captain Marc Olsen, visibly upset, exclaimed, "First Freddie, now Minter? What's the front office thinking, getting rid of our championship DNA?" Similarly, Ronald Acuña Jr. expressed his shock, "It's like they're trying to erase our 2021 World Finals win. This is not the Braves way."

The move has sparked discussions about the Braves' strategy, with many believing that the front office might be attempting a full roster overhaul, distancing themselves from the players who brought them glory in 2021.

As for AJ Minter, he seems to have embraced his new "retirement" plan with humor, planning to spend the season in Cancun with the Mest. "Why not enjoy the sun while 'playing' for the Mest?" Minter quipped, adding a light-hearted touch to what might be one of the most bizarre signings in recent baseball history.

Note: AJ Minter did not say this after signing with the Mets, as far as we know.
